Here is an email I received from a new (Novice) player. I thought it would be fun to share it with everybody!

Hello, everyone!
Hope everyone's doing great. I have something very exciting to share with
you all. If it seems like I'm making a big deal out of it, well, it IS a big
deal to me, so there.:o) Last night, on February 22nd, I had a hockey game
and in the sixth minute of the first period I scored the first goal of the
game. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, last night, during my seventh ice-hockey
game ever, I scored my very first real ice-hockey goal! (I told you I was
ready to score some goals, Sho.:o) Too bad you guys weren't there to see it.
It was sooo sweet too. An incredibly nice pass from behind the net. Aaah, so
beautiful. BTW, we won too. 3:1) It was an amazing feeling. Especially
'cause I've been getting SO close in the last couple of games, but the puck
just would not go into the net. I did get an assist the game before and I
was excited about that too, but you know, goal is a goal.:o) (Oh, yeah. Does
anyone else find it pretty cool that I was exactly twenty and half years
old? Makes it easy to remember.:o)
OK, as for the other exciting stuff... Next Thursday I get to practise
alongside Hayley Wickenheiser! In case you have no idea who she is, Hayley
has been on the Canadian Women's National Team since 1994(she was just 15
back then!) and she has won four gold medals at the Women's World Hockey
Championships as well as the silver medal at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games.
She's also considered to be the best female hockey player in the world. Talk
about exciting, eh?(Do I see you smiling there, Amanda?:o)
Now for something that has nothing to do with hockey.:o) My two other
"firsts". (Is that an actual word?) Couple of days ago I sent out my first
writing assignment. I can't wait to get it back and see how I did. And the
second thing, this Sunday I get my first shot at teaching the toddler Sunday
School. (Now would be a good time for those prayers guys.) I'm pretty
nervous, but I think I'll be fine. As long as none of the kids starts crying
or choking on something or something like that...
Well, if you got all the way down here, you are a trooper. If you didn't,
well, what can I say? Long e-mails must be a writer thing too.:o) Talk to
